Michelle's work

Michelle made this piece for her daughter. Her daughter wanted to make sure she got it back when her mom brought it in for me to photograph. I think that says it all.
Thanks Michelle

Brandon's Katana Scroll

I'll remember Brandon's eloquent speech about his Katana and how martial arts is about energy, flow and our interconnectedness for a long time. The scroll certifies that his sword was made for him in Japan. Thanks Brandon.

Photography

Jacki: This was a series he did: this specific picture can represent a lot of things. it could symbolize purity or the re-birth of beauty or the death of innocence. It was in an art show and a lot of people had different takes on this piece.

Alycia's an artist and a collector!

The first picture is of a painting my husband did to match the blue wall we won for having the best Holoween decorations in our neighborhood last year. It was something he threw together the morning before he deployed.

The second picture is a painting my husband and I did to bring together the colors in our livingroom. It was super easy to make, and it was so much fun! I love it because every time I look at it, it reminds me of those last few days we got to spend together.

This last piece came from an art show in PA. My neighbor paid $400 for it. I loved it from the day she brough it home, so when she moved and put it up for sale, I made a deal with her right away. It has a sort of 3D element to it, and no matter how many times i look at it, I always notice something new about it.

Thanks Alycia!

Inspired by ya'll

So after hearing everyone talk about all the art they'd like to bring in and the art they can't(because it's too precious) I thought I'd create this blog so we could present them and discuss them throughout the next four weeks(and after). This blog can be a version of the collaborative project Joseph suggested in class today. Of course you don't have to share any of your photos on "I Love Me Some Art" but it'll be here if you do.
Thanks to everyone so far for all of their great ideas for class.
